Ahh, the holiday season at Walt Disney World. The climate tends to be moderate and the food and frivolity is ramped up – two of my favorite reasons to visit. Just announced today, Taste of Epcot International Festival of the Holidays 2020 dates and details. This year, along with early next year, the Epcot festivals will be a scaled down version of the fun we’re used to seeing. And, honestly, I’ll take it at this point. Here’s what we know so far to help you plan.
A smaller festival is way better than no festival at all, especially when it comes to visiting Walt Disney World this year and next. This week, we learned about Taste of Epcot International Festival of the Arts beginning the second week of January and I wondered why the Festival of the holidays wasn’t announced first as it would come first. Truthfully, that made me a little itchy for the news as I was beginning to think it was going to be canceled.
But, no worries, it’s still on. Although a smaller version, it should still provide a fun way to celebrate the winter holidays. Here’s the scoop.

What Will Be at Taste of Epcot International Festival of the Holidays 2020?
According to Disney Parks Blog, the “magical event will feature delicious food, fun activities for the whole family and the chance to see some Disney characters in their holiday finest.”
Translation:
- Disney characters dressed in holiday attire, cavalcade style (more on those below).
- Awesome food booths we’ve come to expect
- Interactive experiences and hunts
This year, it’s “Olaf’s Holiday Tradition Expedition”. Our chilly pal has lost holiday traditions around World Showcase, so it’s a jolly adventure around World Showcase to round them up. Expedition maps can be bought at Mouse Gear in, Disney Traders, and World Traveler at International Gateway. Once you find the traditions, head back to one of the participating shops for a gift “worth melting for”.
Holiday Kitchens at Taste of Epcot International Festival of the Holidays 2020
Holiday Kitchens will be in both World Showcase and inside World ShowPlace Events Pavilion.
With the Holiday Kitchens, the Cookie Stroll will be returning at five different locations throughout Epcot. Upon completion of the stroll, you’ll receive a complimentary cookie as a reward. And for those of us that want to take a memory of the Cookie Stroll home, a Cookie Stroll cookie jar featuring Chip and Dale (and a hidden Mickey) will be available for purchase. There’s no note of quantities available, but I’m sure they’ll go fast.
